Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is a trail of 15-20 days wherein the journey encompasses the serene view of conifers, snow capped mountains and lakes. The first day will be your arrival in Kathmandu. You will be driven from The Tribhuvan International Airport to the hotel. You can rest for the night.
The day will start with the tour to some famous sites around Kathmandu such as Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple (one of the most religious place visited throughout the year), Boudhanath Stupa and some more places that are marked under the UNESCO heritage. Also, if you are in need of any trekking gears then you can utilize the time in buying for the climb.Overnight stay at Hotel.
Will head towards Syabrubesi which will mostly take 7 hours. Either a bus or a private jeep will be hired for the drive. The drive is to the north of the Kathmandu Valley with the serene view of the landscape, thickets and the Langtang river. The night will be at Syabrubesi itself.
The trek starts from Syabrubesi, as we enter the Langtang National Park. The distance of 11.3 kilometres covers the route which allows us to enter the Tamang Heritage Trail, Langtang. Also, the uphill comprises of a suspension bridge, will cross the Langtang river (Langtang khola in Nepali). After the brisk walk across the river, we will enter through some villages in Mundu, Ghoda Tabela (horse stable) and Gumna Chowk. Then we descend to Lama Hotel for the overnight stay.
The day starts by trekking to the Langtang Valley which is around 14.8 kilometres surrounded by oaks, hemlocks, maples and rhododendrons. Throughout the day, the walk through meadows and the lush greenery will be a heavenly one, as we also get to pass a few settlements (comprising of the Tamangs). Their fields are mainly focused on cultivations like potatoes, wheat, barley, buckwheat etc. Hence the night will be a stay at Langtang valley
Kyanjin Gompa is one of the most awaited trail in the Langtang Valley Trek, all the way through Syabru besi. This place provides a stunning view of the alpine valley (Langtang Lirung) and the glaciers. The night we can settle at a local hotel.
The descend from Kyanjin to Lama Hotel is through a pasture and the alpine thickets. Mostly Yaks can be spotted at these places. Covering 21.6 kilometres back to the same old Lama Hotel.
